PLAY@Churwell Forest School
We use the Phoenix Campsite on Nepshaw Lane in Morley as the venue for PLAY@Churwell Forest School. The Phoenix is the South Leeds and Morley (SLAM) Scouts Association base and you may be familiar with it if your child has attended cubs & scouts events there. The site has a large playing field, camping field, outdoor equipment, a fire circle and lots of trees so ideal for forest school. There is a marquee to provide shelter when needed and outdoor toilets are available.
We have exclusive use of the site Monday to Friday during school holidays.
From Ring Road, take A643 in direction of Morley. Turn right at the mini roundabout next to Morley Victoria School onto Asquith Avenue. Turn left onto Asquith Drive then left at the end and left again onto Nepshaw Lane. The Phoenix car park is on the right side.
From the A650, take the A643 Bruntcliffe Lane passing Bruntcliffe Academy. Turn left at the mini roundabout next to Morley Victoria School onto Asquith Avenue. Turn left onto Asquith Drive then left at the end and left again onto Nepshaw Lane. The Phoenix car park is on the right side.
Access on foot is direct onto Nepshaw Lane from Asquith Avenue. Take the footpath to the left of the takeaway opposite Morley Victoria School. The Phoenix car park is on the left after Earlsmere Drive.
